In our warm, home-from-home nursery, we provide a safe and caring environment where children can develop at their pace. We nurture strong, positive relationships with both peers and adults within our setting, helping children feel secure and valued. In age-appropriate rooms and well-equipped outdoor space, we inspire curiosity and support the development of key skills. Our professional team guides each child through their early years towards becoming happy, confident and active learners.
The children enjoy a rich variety of indoor and outdoor activities on our grounds, as well as opportunities to explore the local community through visits to the park, village shop and Penley’s Rainbow Centre. Every activity is carefully planned to support all aspects of the Foundation Phase curriculum in Wales. Through celebrating diverse cultural festivals and introducing the Welsh language, we enhance each child’s learning and cultural awareness. Along with playtime in our rooms, we come together to share stories, songs and meals, creating a sense of community and belonging for every child in our care.
Babies
We welcome little ones to our baby room from three months of age. In this bright, airy space, we offer a peaceful setting where babies can safely explore their surroundings and develop in confidence.
We plan engaging experiences to support the development of early communication skills and physical movement. A separate, cosy sleep area ensures each child has the rest they need.
We work closely with parents and carers to follow and support their babies’ established routines.
1-2 Years
Once toddlers are confidently walking, they move into our Toddler A room.
We offer a range of seasonal activities tailored to both their cognitive and physical development.
Children engage in problem-solving tasks, sensory experiences, and creative and messy play, as well as circle time, where they enjoy stories, sing songs and dance together.
2-3 Years
At around two years old, children transition to our Toddler B room, where our committed team supports the growth of their language abilities and broadens their awareness of the world around them, laying a strong foundation for preschool.
In this space, children enhance both fine and gross motor skills, develop their creativity and imagination, and explore diverse cultures.
Our goal is to create enriching learning experiences that inspire confident, motivated and capable young learners.

Preschool
Our Early Years Preschool classroom opens directly onto a covered outdoor play area, providing children aged 3 to 4 with a versatile learning environment. We offer various activities that promote problem-solving skills, encourage creative expression through dance, art, and music, and strengthen numeracy and language development.
We deliver a broad and balanced programme that follows the five key developmental areas of the Welsh curriculum: belonging, communication, exploration, physical development, and wellbeing.
This curriculum supports the growth of ambitious, capable learners; enterprising, creative contributors; ethical, informed citizens; and healthy, confident individuals.
Every child in Wales is entitled to 10 hours of part-time nursery education per week, beginning at age three. You can access Early Years Foundation Phase Learning at Mother Goose Nursery, starting the term after your child's third birthday. Some families might qualify for an extra 20 hours of free childcare via the Childcare Offer for Wales.
